Somehow June flew by and we are now hitting the hottest days of summer. Those initial weeks were full of excitement surrounding the end of school, recovering from the end of school, and starting all those fun summer activities we had planned in our heads.
I don’t know about you, but I start to hit a little bit of a summer slump once July hits. Whether a working parent, a stay-at-home parent, or a work-from-home parent, the days without our usual childcare can start to feel a little challenging. Heading outside for anything except being inside a pool also sounds daunting (especially if you are like me, pregnant, and in Texas)!
Fun Things to Do At Home
My favorite indoor activities for the toddler age have been sensory bins, making race tracks out of painter’s tape, and yoga pretzel cards. For my 4.5-year-old we have been loving science experiments, cosmic kids yoga, and revisiting favorite old-school games like Candyland.
When we venture outside, we are almost always doing something water-related. Our favorites this year have been our water table (still popular 3 years later!), the new wubble balls, and morning/evening bike rides. Comment below with what your summer lifesaver items have been!
