Hiring Now: Part-Time Pediatric Counselor (Open to Full-Time)
Location: Compleo | Waco, TX
Position Type: Part-Time or Full-Time
Flexible Scheduling | Perks Package Included
Do you believe play can be powerful? So do we.
Compleo is looking for a compassionate, creative Pediatric Counselor to join our team. We’re looking for someone who understands that kids don’t always have the words to explain what they’re feeling, and that sometimes connection happens through play, imagination, movement, and a really good game. If you love helping children feel safe, understood, and confident while partnering with families along the way, we’d love to meet you.
About Compleo
Compleo is a family-focused clinic providing collaborative care for children, adults, couples, and families. Our team includes counselors, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech therapists who work together to support the whole person and the whole family.
For our pediatric clients, that means care can extend beyond the counseling room. We value communication between providers, thoughtful collaboration, and creating an environment where children and families feel supported.
About the Role
We’re seeking a licensed counselor with experience and/or a strong interest in working with children and families through play-based, developmentally appropriate care.
Our ideal candidate knows how to meet kids where they are, whether that means talking through a big feeling, using play to build connection, helping a child practice emotional regulation, or partnering with caregivers to support progress outside of sessions.
Experience or interest in play therapy, child development, attachment-based care, trauma-informed approaches, anxiety, emotional regulation, behavioral concerns, life transitions, and family dynamics is especially welcome.
What You’ll Love Here
Flexible Scheduling – Build a schedule that supports both your work and your life.
Room for Play – Bring creativity, connection, and developmentally appropriate approaches into your work with kids.
Individualized Care – Focus on each child and family without productivity pressures getting in the way.
Collaborative Team Environment – Work alongside counselors, pediatric therapists, and other providers to support children and families through coordinated care.
Perks Package Included – Enjoy benefits designed to support you as a clinician, including continuing education opportunities, professional development, mentorship, and more.
We’re Looking for Someone Who:
- Is licensed to practice counseling in Texas
- Has experience and/or a strong interest in working with children and families
- Enjoys using play-based, creative, and developmentally appropriate approaches
- Is interested in supporting children with anxiety, emotional regulation, behavioral challenges, life transitions, trauma, and other common childhood concerns
- Values caregiver involvement and understands the importance of supporting the family system
- Thrives in a collaborative environment
- Brings warmth, curiosity, creativity, and a willingness to get on the floor and play
At Compleo, we want kids to have a space where they can be kids, even while working through big things. And we want our clinicians to have a workplace where they feel supported, connected, and excited about the care they provide.
